Technical Difficulties

The hard drive decided to check out on my primary work machine, an Apple G4 Powerbook. Perhaps dropping it started the death march. Its hard to say for certain.

The good news is that it's still under warranty and that data loss was minimal because I have a pretty good backup system in place. The biggest loss is and will be time. Please bear with me.

My backup plans was not perfect though and I need to better address this. For instance, I wasn't backing up my mail that often because I didn't think it would be too big a deal if I'd lose it. Email has become an albatross to most of that sucks productivity right out of us. I thought it might even be refreshing. Not quite. As I'm learning I was remiss in getting all project notes and documentation out of my inbox and into a folder that gets backed up. Even so I find myself needing to reference things (email addresses etc) that were in my email. I'm resolving to switch to GMail as my primary email client. I haven't been thrilled with Mail.App especially after upgrading to Tiger.

I'm sure I'll have more to say at a later date, but for now I have to pick-up the pieces as quickly as possible so I can can back to work.
